Griffin’s PowerJolt has a compact design. It may cause problems when the lighter socket is close to the gearlever, but we had no such difficulty, and powering and charging our Apple devices was easy using their connection lead in the USB input. The socket also worked with other USB kit such as a Blackberry phone. A bonus is the neat battery held in the unit with magnets. This charges up while the Powerjolt is connected to the lighter; slip it into your Apple device, and it revives the player. This is a neat, effective solution, and works with the iPhone, iPod with video and Classic. It can also be used to charge the Nano and iPod Touch, although these players’ headphone sockets are blocked by the power pack.
